The short version
This site sets no advertising cookies, no third-party profiling cookies and no cross-site trackers. Reading the law here sets nothing at all. One first‑party cookie exists, it is optional, and it is only set if you tick the box asking for it on a form. That is why you are not being chased around the page by a consent banner.

All of it stays in your browser. None of it is sent to us, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data, or using the Clear everything on this device button in My library, removes it completely.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. That is a hosting function rather than a cookie, and it is covered in the privacy notice.
The optional visitor id, in plain terms
If you tick that box, we generate a random string — something like a3f9c1d20b8e — store it in a cookie on your device, and record it against your enquiry. It contains nothing about you. It lets us see that the person who asked about a Section 3 objection had also read the Rule 24B page twice, which makes the first phone call useful rather than exploratory. If you do not tick it, no cookie is set and your reading stays anonymous. You can withdraw it at any time by clearing your cookies or writing to us.
Analytics
The site ships with analytics switched off. If we turn it on, we will use a privacy-conscious tool, we will update this page before we do it, and we will never send the content of legal enquiries, invention details, phone numbers or email addresses into it — that exclusion is enforced in the site's own code, not merely promised here. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, no analytics will load at all.
