The Patents (Amendment) Rules, 2024
The request for examination period was shortened for applications governed by the amended rule.
The working statement on Form 27 moved from an annual filing to once every three financial years, with the deadline running from the end of each three-year block.
A grace-period rule was introduced, and a certificate of inventorship was provided for.
The power to extend time and condone delay was widened, subject to the carve-outs in the rule.
The statement and undertaking about foreign applications was re-timed.
