6Persons entitled to apply for patentsSays who may apply for a patent in India: the true and first inventor, an assignee, or a legal representative of a deceased entitled person.
7Form of applicationRequires every patent application to be for one invention, made in the prescribed form, with proof of right where the applicant is an assignee.
8Information and undertaking regarding foreign applicationsRequires an applicant with corresponding foreign applications to disclose their particulars and keep the Controller informed as prosecution continues abroad.
9Provisional and complete specificationsGoverns provisional and complete specifications, including the twelve-month period to file a complete specification and conversion between the two.
10Contents of specificationsSets what a specification must contain: a full description, the best method, clear claims, an abstract, and biological material details.
11Priority dates of claims of a complete specificationFixes the priority date of each claim in a complete specification, which decides what prior art can be used against that claim.
